Re-Introducing the Broadcast Network
Many of us know that ministry can be a lonely place, and the front lines are often the loneliest. When you step out for Jesus, you carry the weight of vision, the responsibility for making big calls and the challenge of figuring it out as you go, often with a small team and a fledgling community looking to you for the answers.
Good training doesn’t always help either. Many of the best courses and conferences out there can be built around whoever happens to live near a big city, has flexibility in their schedule and a big enough budget to afford the cost. But when you are bi-vocational, working in a remote community, serving overseas, or just stretched thin, the resources that would help most can sometimes be tricky to access.
It is because of this that we started Broadcast back in 2013.
Where We Started
Our goal when we launched Broadcast was to be a conversation partner for people on the front lines of ministry. We wanted to do something that was relatable, where people felt like they had that extra voice in the mix who gets the pressures of ministry and can join in the normal conversations that come up in the course of building something for Jesus.
We started by running some Google hangouts (shout out to those of you who were with us on them back in the day) where we brought experienced church planters and leaders into the living rooms of those who were on the ground to share wisdom and engage the challenges people faced.
How We’ve Grown
Since those early days we have also produced articles, a podcast and courses that were easy to access and full of grounded and practical wisdom for mission and ministry.
The focus has widened to include areas like leadership, theology, cross-cultural ministry, preaching, arts & culture and multisite church, and we have developed partnerships with the Unreached Network and Sputnik to feature their resources, as well as a catalogue of courses featuring the teaching of David Devenish.
None of this was designed to move us away from our church planting roots. We have simply tried to engage the broad range of topics that practitioners and pioneers are already wrestling with. Church planting doesn’t happen in isolation from questions of leadership, theology and culture but is intricately connected to them, and so as our audience has grown and developed so has the range of topics we covered, all designed to be part of that front line conversation.
Why The Refresh
After over a decade of conversation and content, we realised that one of the biggest challenges people had with Broadcast was how the material was presented.
Whilst we have a large and (we think) valuable archive of content, it wasn’t always easy to find your way around or access the right content for your current needs.
Over the last year we have rebuilt from the ground up. This includes :
A refreshed identity that reflects what Broadcast has become in 2026, not just who we were ten years ago.
A rebuilt website designed to make it far easier to find the right content for whatever you are wrestling with right now.
A brand new YouTube channel sitting alongside our podcast channel to access our content in whatever way works for you.
A focussed content strategy - we will be releasing one new episode a week, in both video and podcast format. These episodes are currently building out our new ‘Church Planting Foundations’ series, and then later in the year we are planning series on preaching, discipleship, theology and the inner life of the leader.
What You’ll Find at Broadcast
Our new site brings together articles, podcasts, courses and other resources, all aimed at leaders navigating the realities of everyday ministry.
Whether you are pioneering something new, leading a team through a challenging season or trying to think theologically about a live issue in your context, there is likely something built with you in mind.

Our purpose here is not just to let you know that we have changed our branding. We want to invite you back into something we hope will actually be useful to you and serve you as you step out on the front lines.
If that sounds like you, we'd love to have you along.
